Letters on a wall in Rincon, PR. The surf culture reigns in that area and there were lots of examples of this type of graffiti everywhere

Weekly Photo Challenge – Topic – Unexpected
These pictures were taken in 2008. My youngest daughter and her boyfriend at the time were surfing and I was on the beach taking pictures. When they came back on shore, we were standing around talking and the next thing I know – I see her boyfriend on one knee proposing to her. The timing could not have been better since we were all on the beach with some of their friends plus a few other relatives. The most unexpected part of this is that he is not one to do things like this in public – but I’m glad he did and I’m so glad I was there with my camera. I was surprised these even turned out OK since I was shaking and excited!! They have been happily married since September 2009.
Weekly Photo Challenge – Topic – Horizons
I took this picture in August on vacation at Hatteras Island. There are definitely some great horizons on those beaches.

Photos of Summer/June 1-A Day at the Beach
Nothing says summer in our family more than a day at the beach. I take pictures – always coming home with too many – while others surf.
Surfing in Rincon, Puerto Rico
My husband, daughter and son-in-law are the family surfers. Our trip this month to Puerto Rico revolved around this activity. The waves can get HUGE especially in Tres Palmas. Taking pictures was challenging since they were way out in the water.
