This week, Beth of Wandering Dawgs has invited us to share images of back country roads. These photos are both local and also while travelling.
The first photo is on a walking path not too far from our home near the Great Dismal Swamp. Before autos were on the road, these paths were used for travel. I think these deer were as surprised to see us as we were them.

The next photo was taken in Santee, NC. We stumbled upon this BBQ place while exploring. Well worth the stop for some good eats!!

The last photo was taken is a town called Burke’s Garden in the western part of Virginia. There wasn’t a garden – but there were plenty of farms with barns.
