Lisa of Our Eyes Open has asked us to use the editing technique of selective color. Since Lightroom Classic is my “go to” for editing – that is what I used. The process is pretty easy with the HSL Panel (hue, saturation, luminance). I played with the saturation sliders until I got the look I wanted. Here are a cardinal, mallards and bluebird using this technique.
This week Lisa of Our Eyes Open is asking us to share photos of birds that start with the letter “G”. Here’s a grackle, goose and goldfinch. The goldfinch is changing from it’s duller winter color to it’s summer yellow.
This week’s challenge is comparing photos that are color and converted to black and white. The first 2 photos were taken at the beach last month. I am a fan of beach photos in b/w or sepia.
The next ones are of a plant. My preference on this one is the color but the b/w brings out the detail nicely.
Our house is sold and we are staying with family until we can move into the apartment we are renting while we build. We’ve done a little travelling and enjoying ourselves during this in-between phase. This week Ann Christine has asked us to share photos of our interpretation of spots and dots. Here are a few that I have.
One of the “spots” we went to on our travels was Flora-Bama. It is definitely a t-shirt and shorts type of place. It’s a couple of run down beach buildings with music in 6 different areas. If you go – be prepared for a “dive” like atmosphere with good music.
Also in Florida, I spent some time trying to “spot” lizards that seem to be everywhere. This one blends in nicely with it’s surroundings.
Lastly, today we went for a walk on the beach and saw what was left of this spotted sea animal that had washed up on the shore. I would love to have seen what it looked like alive.
