This week we are sharing photos of birds with red feathers. I have a ton of cardinal photos but for this I decided to go with a pretty male finch. They are frequent visitors to our feeders and can be quite entertaining.

Fall is a great time of the year to take photos of reflections in the water on calm days. I love the abstract look that the water has in these types of photos.
My first SLR – the AE-1.
I started off with this camera in the 80’s then drifted away and used a point and shoots for many years. When the DSLR’s came out my daughter bought one in 2007 and after I played around with it I knew I had to have one. My wonderful husband bought one for me for Christmas that year and I was hooked!!
A few weeks ago – I tried the oil and water droplet photography. There are several tutorials online and it takes much patience and lots of photos. Here is the result:
In the first one I used flash and second one – no flash.

This week we are sharing photos of birds whose names begin with “B”. I am sharing a photo of a baby and adult Bluebird (Eastern variety) that was taken last year. These birds didn’t use our nest box but they were not at all hesitant to come to our yard for the mealworms we provided. So fun to watch!!!!!

This week For CFFC we are sharing fotos of sunset, sunrise and night. I have one of each.
The first one is the glow of a sunrise coming through the window.
Next is a sunset reflected on a lake with a solitary goose floating along.
Last is one I took the other evening of a moonrise during the blue hour.

This week Lisa of Our Eyes Open is asking us to share pictures of the same bird in color and mono. I have picked this owl that I photographed at the Alligator Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina. I love the feather markings which lend nicely to a monotone image.
