We took this “selfie” of us at the top of a mountain we had hiked on Skyline Drive a couple of weeks ago. The horizons are gorgeous there.
I took this picture in August on vacation at Hatteras Island. There are definitely some great horizons on those beaches.
…..with the Sound of Music. This is a picture of my GD on our recent trip to Skyline Drive. For some reason – it reminded me of the movie – The Sound of Music. Watching her run through this field was a joyful experience.
We went to Skyline Drive this weekend (it was open!!!!!!). At the southern end of the drive the colors were wonderful. This tree was at the Loft Mountain stop. We can certainly celebrate the hues of this time of year.
This was taken at Big Meadows on Skyline Drive a few years ago. The mountain ranges seem to go on forever. We will be traveling in that direction next weekend but probably won’t be able to get on the Drive due to the fact that it is a national park and won’t be open. Maybe things will change in a few days – hope springs eternal !!!
Fall is probably the best time of year to see saturated colors in nature. This one is from 2011. Even though I prefer summer and beaches, I do love all the color we get to see this time of year.
