Weekly Photo Challenge – Masterpiece
On our last day in Puerto Rico we were in San Juan for a few hours before our flight left. Right in the middle of shops and restaurants that line the street was this lovely old church. Underneath the sanctuary was a catacombs of sorts. The church reminded me of one I went to as a child.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Golden Hour
This photo was taken on Hatteras Island in 2011. We were vacationing and had to evacuate the island 3 days before our vacation ended due to Hurricane Isabelle. This was taken the night before we left.
Weekly Photo Challenge – Golden Hour
I am posting one of my favorites ( I have quite a few ) from Hatteras Island. This was taken in 2010 in Salvo, NC on the sound.
Photos of Summer – Flight
In between taking pictures of the surfers in the family – I love trying to get shots of gulls in flight. Some of the birds have such nice markings on them.
Weekly Photo Challenge – Nostalgia
We were at the beach this weekend. Seeing the pier reminded of fishing with 2 wonderful people who are no longer here. The first is my dad – who used to take me to a pier as a kid. The second is my M-I-L who was one of the most wonderful individuals I have had the honor of knowing. She loved to fish and one day when we went on a pier – we had a blast catching spot 2 and 3 at a time on our lines. The sepia photo conjures memories – but the color shows you the beauty of the day when I took this picture.
Photos of Summer – Beach Dogs
We enjoyed a local beach yesterday and folks are allowed to walk their dogs until 10 am. Since we arrived at 730 am – there was plenty of 4 legged traffic to photograph.
Happy 4th Everyone
Photos of Summer – A Dog’s Joy
I love taking pictures of dogs at the beach. The owner of this dog was having a great time and so was the dog. I have a fondness for black labs like this one because we used to have one. This dog acted as if it could do this game all day long.
