I think I have posted a picture of one of these gentle creatures previously. I go by the farm regularly and if I have my camera and they are near the road, I pull over and take a picture. We live in the “burbs” so it’s great to see this open area with beauty on 4 legs.
Our backyard is fairly shady and these flowers thrive in the shade. They come in lots of colors and can really brighten up flowerbeds, hanging baskets etc. Too bad they are not perennials. I played with the editing a bit using the Glamour Glow filter in NIK Color Efex.
I love seeing these flowers in summer – but they are here one day and gone the next. Fortunately, there is usually a new one getting ready to bud so that we can continue to enjoy these flowers of summer
First dragonfly pictures of this summer. These insects definitely fit the Fleeting category – if you don’t believe me just watch me chasing them around my yard to get a picture.
We planted these a couple of weeks ago in a hanging basket outside and they are still alive!!! I can’t remember what they are called – they have a mum like look to them. There’s lots of buds, so it looks like we will continue to enjoy them.
There wasn’t much opportunity to go out and take pictures yesterday since the tropical storm was upon us. Being on the coast of Virginia, we always have to be prepared for these storms
