There’s nothing like seeing a bunch of 3-5 year olds at their first dance lesson. We took my granddaughter to her first lesson last night and it really brought back memories. The best part for me was seeing the joy on my daughter’s face watching her daughter. I’ll have that picture in my memory forever !

Rainbow Fly
This is not everyone’s favorite bug – especially in the summer – but I was attracted by the rainbow colors in the wings and the vivid green reflected in the “face”.
After the Rain
I took this for a challenge group on Flickr – the them was “wet”. I used an antique preset in Lightroom to get the pink color. The rose is actually red – but I kinda liked the muted tones. I enjoy playing with the different presets and filters to see what I can come up with.
Weekly Photo Challenge – Escape
This is a photo I took last summer. My most favorite place to escape is the beach and my favorite beach is at the S-turns before you drive into Rodanthe on Hatteras Island (part of Pea Island Wildlife area). There are very few people on the beach and the surfers in the family love the break there. Even going there for just one day is like a mini vacation.
Weekly Photo Challenge – Escape
Our back yard is an everyday escape for us in the spring and summer. It does not have manicured flower beds (save that for the front yard) – although we have areas where we have roses, hosta, and other shade plants growing. The best part is the trees around the deck which provide great shade in the heat of a summer’s afternoon.

Greenie
The other evening my husband removed the grill cover and this little frog was resting comfortably on the grill. The larger photo shows him after he hopped off the grill and onto our hosta. It was great to see this frog because we have not seen them for a few years.
Weekly Photo Challenge – Above
I took this from an upstairs room window. The vine is a jasmine which produces pretty yellow flowers in the spring
